Context & Background

In late 2025, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Thailand reaffirmed the longstanding partnership between the two nations through a strategic humanitarian initiative in southern Thailand. The project focused on enhancing healthcare capacity and education infrastructure for underserved communities in Songkhla Province and beyond — reflecting bilateral cooperation in sustainable development and public welfare.

This initiative was carried out in conjunction with key partners:

  • Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA)

  • Thai International Cooperation Agency (TICA)

  • Songkhla Provincial Administrative Organization bringing together diplomatic, governmental, and local stakeholders.

Objective

Primary Goal:
To deliver impactful, tangible assistance that enhances healthcare services and education resources in Thailand’s Deep South particularly in Songkhla Province while reinforcing Korea–Thailand diplomatic goodwill.

Secondary Objectives:

  • Strengthen the image of the Embassy as a trusted partner in social development

  • Build meaningful media coverage around international cooperation efforts

  • Increase public awareness of bilateral efforts in health and education sectors
